Today approximately fourteen percent of the population would be able to give you an accurate definition of Poverty, because they are currently experiencing it first-hand in the United States (Maiese, 2003). Absolute Poverty, which academically can be defined as the lack of the minimum food and shelter necessary for maintaining life. This definition comes with much controversy because most Americans who have the bare basics to maintain life are still living in what is known as Relative Poverty. This would be a more appropriate definition as many of the poor lack the ability to live decently because they earn a considerably less amount than the nation’s median income. The social issue of Poverty is a phenomenon that is complicated to discover why it is perpetuated in our society. Americans as a whole have created a stereotypic explanation that cycle of poverty occurs because the poor choose to continue it. The idea that the people in poverty resign themselves to a culture of pov erty passed down from generation to generation where previous generations cannot transmit the intellectual, social, and cultural capital necessary to change their situation. This project plan represents a general collection of processes and procedures covering the implementation of Voice over IP (VoIP) Solution for a fictitious customer. The purpose of this document is to define a VoIP project plan proposal to provide a customer with a comprehensive plan outlining the details, stakeholders, and time-frames for the defined project scope. I have developed the project plan in conjunction with the customer to identify implementation objectives and priorities. The project plan includes Project Scope, VoIP Implementation Plan, Dependencies, Risk Assessment and Management, VoIP Training, Communication Overview, and Project Closeout. Overview This document describes the project plan for the installation of a VoIP telephone solution and subsequent migration of the existing Centranet (Centrex) users to the new VoIP platform. Centranet is the brand name for Verizon centrex service. The new system will replace the existing Centranet and become the voice network enterprise-wide. This new system will greatly reduce all voice network costs currently incurred by the customer, associated with voice service. This includes, but not limited to, toll calling, domestic long distance, and international calls. The greatest benefit the customer sees is the four-digit dialing plan capability that will include extensions for people who tele-commute (work from home). The first phases of the project will target Centranet users in a select department, as this is where the first trial can take place and help establish metrics for the system as a whole. While cost savings are still key drivers in VoIP deployment, other benefits are becoming equally as compelling, such as employee productivity, employee retention, and office real estate savings. I anticipate the deployment project will have a life cycle of about six years, as that is the estimated accounting life of this type of equipment (Bandwidth). The first step to optimizing a network for VoIP traffic is the ability to understand and identify traffic running on the network. Once applications are identified, policies can be implemented to control application parameters and enable better alignment between business-critical applications, reduce unwanted recreational traffic, and allocate sufficient bandwidth to VoIP calls to reduce latency, jitter, and delay (Ganguly). Advanced compression algorithms can provide low-latency, high-impact compression to increase WAN capacity and create room for VoIP implementations (G. 729). Therefore, you can optimize network performance without increasing bandwidth (Ganguly). The first order of business is to perform a complete network assessment. Most businesses know that VoIP runs over a network and that a VoIP system needs to be designed such that voice traffic runs as smoothly over it as it does over the traditional phone system. What many businesses do not realize are the network requirements for VoIP to operate correctly. The quality of a phone call can be impacted by issues such as having the right type of cabling (cat 5e or 6 is recommended), and ensuring that switches, not hubs, are deployed within a customer’s network, and that all routing and switching CPE support QoS (CIO). Additional details can include whether a company has a firewall, and whether the ports that permit the two most common VoIP protocols SIP and MGCP ports are blocked. In addition, reviewing internal network needs, a review of the network connectivity will be used to deliver VoIP should occur. Network connections should be over dedicated circuits if more than one phone call are to be supported, but the shared nature of other technologies such as ATM, Frame relay, and cable connections tend to cause quality issues that would not otherwise be noticed as a user utilizes the network (Bandwidth). Next, I will perform a complete business flow design. This is a frequently overlooked preparation item a Project Manager should consider when installing a VoIP system. In a natural haste to deploy VoIP, companies forget to properly plan for the way that a phone call is routed to various groups within the company. For a sales call center, do I want to route calls equitably, or have them routed to my top closer first? Or, a company may fail to plan for servicing calls that are forwarded by the intended recipient and the destination extension is not picked up, which voicemail receives the call? Are there hunt groups to be set up? Even more common is for a business to look to deploy a solution knowing that these features exist but without properly planning ach feature (TMCNET). Each employee’s phone should be considered for each feature that they have with their current system, and which of VoIP’s new features should be made available to them. These are just a few of the questions that typically merit consideration; however, it is smart to employ a service provider of VoIP services who has already implemented these services elsewhere and can help quickly build an effective template for calls so that they will be routed throughout the business (TMCNET). Project Dependencies A site survey will need to be performed. A site survey is a means of collecting the information that will be needed to help nail down the scope of work from a technical level. Use of appropriate technologies such as firewall implementation, VLAN, DHCP, QoS, DiffServ, etc will be determined by the data collected in this step (CIO). While interviewing the project stakeholders, the focus of the meeting will encompass things such as: what types of phones they want, system features, IVR menu trees, and call center configuration. In the site survey, imperatives of the installation need to be identified with information such as required features defined by the project sponsor and stakeholders. The number and types of phones required for each application and the location of each type of phone. Agent phones will need to be located in the call center and multi-line appearance phones will need to be located in the appropriate locations. Telephone circuit information will need to be disseminated to the appropriate personnel, particularly the project team member responsible for scheduling. Circuit data, cabling requirements, and other network infrastructure will complete a good site survey. With a good site survey in hand, you have all the technical information you need to put together a quote and to know what pieces are going to be required to be dealt with (CIO). Circuit Install or modification (Change Order) is a critical item to monitor and manage properly or project jeopardy could occur. A delay in the installation of trunks or data circuits can push the installation and testing of the CPE and other portions of the overall voice network. This action item is owned by the Project Manager, but may be assigned to a project team member to monitor. This task can be combined and coordinated with other tasks such as router install and miscellaneous CPE installation and configuration (Bandwidth). A successful trial will be performed at the appropriate time to insure the installation and configuration is correct. Before a performance trial can occur, metrics need to be established and full documentation with alternative courses of actions and definitions detailing the criteria of a successful trial. The initial trial phase of approximately 75 IP phone sets and supporting equipment of various other nodes will allow staff the time necessary to become familiar with the set up and support of this new technology. Once we deem the trial a success and staff are comfortable with the system, the rollout to additional departments will begin. Their known life span is to be around five to nine years (Switch Zoo , 2013). They are omnivores and carnivores, so their diet consists of insects, fruit, animals and flowers. There are also more than 135 different species of chameleons and six different subfamilies, which are Bradypodian, Brookesia, Calumma, Rhampolean, Chamaeleo, and Furcifer (Chameleons Online, 2002). The bulge underneath their tails can determine the sex of a chameleon visibly. This specie is commonly found in three types of habitats. It is common for chameleons to want to stay off the ground and higher up, but few do like to make home in fallen leaves and sticks in large open areas. There are four layers of skin cells that go in the order of yellow, red, blue, and brown in color. The color changing is from their hormones and not their nervous system. Females also change colors when they are pregnant or want to warn away males. Though chameleons are not the only organisms that can change color, they are among the fastest that can. Next, are the eyes of a chameleon. Their eyes are large and sit on the side of their heads. They are able to move separately and almost view 360 degrees of their surroundings (Foden, 2014). They are also able to move their eyes around without moving their heads. Another feature is their tongue. A chameleon’s tongue can be one and a half times longer than their body. When it is not extended, it sits coiled inside of their neck. They are able to extend their tongues to catch insects without being noticed, and the insects stick to it making it easier to catch. The fourth feature of a chameleon is their feet. Each foot has five toes. The feet in the front has two toes going outward and three toes going inward, while the back feet are the opposite. Their feet help them to grip braches to climb and stay mobile. Lastly, is a chameleon’s tail. Their tail is used for gripping while moving and to maintain their balance. When a chameleon feels threatened they can coil it, or roll it up, to make them appear larger while defensive. The inner structure of chameleons is also important in survival, ii (Neumann). They consist of a heart, oesophagus, lungs, liver, intestine, fat bodies, gal bladder, kidney, and cloaca. Females also have ovaries and oviducts for reproduction. Poetry Comparison on The Flea and To His Coy Mistress I would firstly like to begin on 'The Flea'. This poem is about a man that is trying to persuade a woman to have sex with him, by symbolically using a flea. The content of the poem is very much the same throughout the whole of the poem. In the first stanza, the poet is basically talking about how the flea represents their coming together and in the last two stanza's the poet tries to then persuade the woman to have sex by using different tactic's like guilt etc. To the end of the second stanza the woman whom is being seduced, kills the flea and is clearly stating that she will not go to bed with the poet. Following this he tries to tell her that it is cruel and unjust and a sin against God, and what she has done is wrong and there is also nothing wrong with sex before marriage. The poem is set in the 17th century and I think the poet feels very strongly about what he is saying, and takes it very seriously. I also think that the poem works very well with its comparison to the flea, and I think that the author has been very clever in what he has said. Secondly, I would like to talk about 'To his Coy Mistress'. This poem is very much the same as 'The Flea' and has many similarities. Again the poem is based upon a man trying to get a woman to go to bed with him, and is too set in the 17th century. The poem is split into three stanzas and each of them differs from the next, although still trying to get across the same message. In the first verse the poet is trying to flatter the woman by using complimentary language and words such as, "a hundred years should go to pra... ...s he proves to be less than adequate ' shimmying in & out every other day as though he owned the place'. He shows interest in only one thing and expects her to do all the work and 'weave the means of her own escape'. She is patient and encouraging at first, holding out hope that she might be able to guide him towards something at least a little closer to her idea of what a man should be like. However, he fails completely in this respect and she ends up speechless with frustration and tears herself in two. I think all in all when love is concerned in poetry nowadays it is a bit of a mockery and no one ever takes it that seriously. People think that love is something to be laughed at and never something to be admired. So I think love poems have changed a lot, although there are still some poets who have the right idea.

Ethical relativism is a view on morality stating that there are no universally accepted moral principles. Morality varies from one culture to another and no society has the right to impose their view of morality on other societies. Ethical relativism can be summed up to mean that morals are derived from what is culturally acceptable in any given society. ER is made up of two theses. The first is the diversity thesis, which simply says that moral practices are diverse across cultures. Ruth Benedict defends this theory by using homosexuality as an example. She explains how homosexuality was accepted and even encouraged in many cultures throughout history, like ancient Greece, but denounced in others. More evidence for the diversity thesis can be found in burial practices. Ancient Greeks honored their dead by burning the bodies. Similarly, Callatians showed respect to their dead by eating the bodies. However, both cultures were extremely offended when asked how much money would be required to institute the burial practices of the other. These examples clearly illustrate the vast differences in morality from culture to culture. ER’s second thesis is called the dependency thesis. It states that there is no objective standard by which to judge morality. Westermark defends this theory by saying that ethics is a learned set of behaviors instilled in every human at a young age by his or her surroundings. As a young person, we pick up on â€Å"right† and â€Å"wrong† by learning from those around us what is culturally acceptable. The ultimate source of morality, according to Westermark, is sympathy. This â€Å"gut feeling† of right and wrong is the only scale of morality each person has. Pojman has found many discrepancies in the theory of ethical relativism. Since ER says that no cultures view of morality can be criticized, we ought to be tolerant of all cultures. The problem is that tolerance would then be a universal moral principle, which ER says doesn’t exist. In fact it would be just as acceptable for a culture to be intolerant since morality is relative. Thus ER is logically inconsistent. This inconsistency makes ER inapplicable to solving conflicts between cultures, since each can be viewed as being morally right in any action by their own definition. Pojman also explains how any social reformers, like Martin Luther King Jr. , would inherently be wrong by going against the societal majority (i. e. those that determine morals). ER also implies that mass opinion is infallible, thus making a brutal dictator such as Hitler morally justified. The challenge of the ring is a hypothetical question posed to Socrates by Glaucon in the 5th century BC. Glaucon introduces a mythical ring that turns its wearer invisible. Glaucon says that every person, even the seemingly most moral, would use the ring to his or her advantage even at the detriment of others. His argument is based on the fact that the only reason people don’t live fully unjust lives now is fear of repercussions. Under the stipulation that one can never be caught, the fear vanishes one becomes immoral. Socrates responds by asking if injustice really does pay. His point is that by one’s own definition of success, one may or may not use the ring. For example if success is defined by a man as being scrupulous, he wouldn’t use the ring because ultimately it doesn’t lead to happiness for him. In contrast, the man who defines success by wealth would use the ring. Socrates says that to do injustice is to scar ones â€Å"soul,† which is equivalent to the modern word â€Å"character. † Both sides of the ring argument have merit. For the majority of the population I believe Glaucon is right, they would use the ring. However, some define happiness differently, and for them the ring is of no use. Friedman’s argument on corporate social responsibility is that it doesn’t exist. According to Friedman, a corporation’s only goal is to increase profits infinitely while staying within the realm of the law. He states that a corporate executive is merely an employee of the shareholders and his or her job is solely to increase return to the shareholders. If an executive were to be â€Å"socially responsible† and donate money to a charity, it’s an unauthorized distribution of shareholder funds. Thus being socially responsible is simultaneously being morally irresponsible. The burden of social responsibility should be placed on individual consumers. If they don’t like the policies and practices of a certain company they have the option to not buy the product or not invest in the company. The divine command theory makes a single differentiation between right and wrong. Simply, according to DCT, morally right means commanded by God and morally wrong means forbidden by God. This theory is highly criticized and many philosophers would say it has been refuted for thousands of years. The main criticism comes from Socrates and Euthyphro. The question is whether what is right is right because God says so (DCT) or does God say it’s right because he sees that its right (theory of natural law). Option one is quickly dismissed by Euthyphro because it implies quite a bit of arbitrariness. For instance, in the very beginning all actions were morally equal until God starting commanding and prohibiting certain ones. If God loving something makes it right, what reason is there for God wanting us to do right? If God commanded adultery, adultery would be morally right and obligatory. Option two means that there is a standard of morals independent from God’s own will.
